About The Event
We started planting in 2016 and now have more than 100 acres of Silvopasture. We are trialling a variety of species and layouts to create a climate-resilient farm, with a particular emphasis on edible fruits and nuts for humans and browse for livestock. You will also have the opportunity to see the result of our experimentation with woodchip for mulching trees when planting.
Ben Raskin (project manager at the farm, and author of The Woodchip Handbook) will be taking guided tours around the agroforestry planting at 10am and 2pm. Booking essential!
Make the most of your visit and book a table at the Royal Oak, or bring your own picnic to eat among the almond and apricot trees. There is limited parking at the agroforestry and a simple compost loo. More sophisticated facilities are available at Helen Browning’s Royal Oak in the heart of Bishopstone village, which is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away.
